On Thursday, January 11, we visited Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum (no photos allowed inside), Ho's living quarters and the One-Pillar Pagoda. We stopped at the monumnet to the capture of John McCain, after he was shot down over Hanoi. Then we went to the Hoa Lo prison (now a museum), dubbed the "Hanoi Hilton" by American prisoners of war. Later, we visited the home of a water puppet master, and he put on a performance. We went for dinner to Bun Cha Huong Lien, where Barack Obama and Anthony Bourdain had filmed one episode of Bourdain's TV show. Of course, we had the Obama special, replicating his meal.
